Each day more than 45 million Americans go without health care coverage, including hundreds of thousands of Marylanders. Many more have inadequate and expensive health care. As health care costs skyrocket and fewer small business and large corporations can bear the burden, our economy and global competitiveness suffer.
I support a comprehensive approach to health coverage to lower costs for all Americans, to enable small businesses to cover low-wage workers, to give American real choice in doctors and other health care providers, and to prioritize preventive care.
